About me
- Dr. Sandeep Guleria is a renowned urologist and transplant surgeon with over 39 years of experience, specializing in kidney transplantation, vascular access surgery, and dialysis procedures.
- He completed his MBBS from the University of Delhi in 1985, MS in General Surgery from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in 1988, and DNB in Urology/Genito-Urinary Surgery from the National Board of Examination in 1989.
- Dr. Guleria led the team that performed the first two kidney-pancreas transplants in India and pioneered cadaveric renal transplantation in New Delhi.
- He developed the Pediatric Transplant Unit at AIIMS and initiated the Laparoscopic Donor Nephrectomy program there. He also introduced the ‘Donor Card’ in New Delhi.
- Dr. Guleria has been honored with the Padma Shri award by the President of India and serves as the Vice President of the Indian Society of Organ Transplantation.
